The Three Tags: Readers, Sellers, and Enthusiasts
When you post in most boards, you'll be asked to choose a tag (or the moderators will apply one). These tags aren't just labels – they're a promise to the community about who you are and what your post is about.
Here's what each tag means and how to use it.
🟢 Enthusiast (Community Member)
Who: This is the default tag for most members. If you're here to learn, ask questions, share your own palm photos, or join conversations without offering professional services – you're an Enthusiast.
What you can post:
Reading requests in Read My Palm
Questions and discussions in Lines & Meaning
Gift recommendations and questions in The Gift Match
Your gift wins in Gift Wins
Introductions and casual chat in The Lounge
What you cannot post:
Self-promotion or advertising (that's for Sellers)
Professional palm-reading services (that's for Readers)
Why it matters: When someone sees an Enthusiast tag, they know you're here for the love of the topic – not for business. It builds trust and keeps the vibe friendly and peer-to-peer.
🔵 Reader (Verified or Aspiring)
Who: You are someone who reads palms – either professionally or as a serious hobbyist. You may be verified by the forum moderators (which means we've reviewed your reading history, testimonials, or sample work) or you may be an aspiring reader working toward verification.
What you can post:
Offering free or paid readings (paid readings go through The Sellers' Table or private messaging)
Sharing detailed educational content in Lines & Meaning
Responding to reading requests in Read My Palm
Offering gift-matching advice based on your readings in The Gift Match
What you cannot post:
Doom predictions (death, illness, disaster) – absolutely forbidden
Unsolicited reading requests in other people's threads
Advertising your services outside of The Sellers' Table (unless it's a free offer in a reading request thread)
Why it matters: The Reader tag signals that you have experience and knowledge. It helps gift-givers trust your advice when they're choosing a present based on a palm reading. We take verification seriously to maintain quality, but aspiring readers are welcome to participate – just be honest about your experience level.
🟠 Seller (Handmade Gift Maker or Curator)
Who: You make or curate physical gifts – candles, jewelry, journals, art, textiles, food items, or any handcrafted product that could be gifted. You may also be a reader who offers curated gift boxes as a service.
What you can post:
Introductions and product showcases in The Sellers' Table
Special offers, seasonal collections, and new product announcements in The Sellers' Table
Responding to gift-matching threads in The Gift Match with relevant product suggestions (be helpful, not pushy)
Sharing stories in Gift Wins if your product was part of a win
What you cannot post:
Pure ads outside of The Sellers' Table
Drop-shipped or mass-produced items (we're a handmade-focused community)
Spamming the same product across multiple threads
Why it matters: The Seller tag tells the community that you're a creator, not just a marketer. It builds trust and makes it easier for gift-givers to find beautiful, meaningful products. We love our makers – and we want to support you – but we keep the selling contained so the other boards stay focused on learning and sharing.
Why we use tags
In a community where readers, gift-givers, and makers all interact, tags help everyone understand each other's perspective. When you see a Reader tag, you know the advice comes from experience. When you see a Seller tag, you know they're offering something you can buy. When you see an Enthusiast tag, you know they're just here to learn and share.
It also keeps things transparent. No hidden agendas, no surprise sales pitches – just clear, honest interaction.
The Golden Rules (Read These, Too)
Tags are the framework – but rules are the foundation. Here's what we expect from every member:
1. No Fortune-Terrorism (The #1 Rule)
Do not predict death, illness, or disaster in any reading. Period. We are a grounded, constructive community. If you see something in a palm that worries you, frame it as a question, not a verdict. For example:
❌ "Your lifeline is short – you won't live past 50."
✅ "Your lifeline is shorter than average – some readers interpret that as high intensity in shorter bursts. How do you feel about your energy levels?"
This rule is non-negotiable. Violations will result in a warning, and repeated violations will lead to a ban.
2. Ads Only in The Sellers' Table
If you're a Seller, keep your promotional posts in The Sellers' Table. You're welcome to join discussions in other boards and mention your products if it's relevant and helpful – but don't drop links or pitch your shop in reading threads or gift-match threads unless someone specifically asks.
3. Be Respectful
We welcome all levels of experience – from complete beginners to lifetime readers. No gatekeeping, no shaming, no mockery. If someone asks a basic question, answer it with kindness. If you disagree with an interpretation, do it respectfully and offer your reasoning.
4. Stay On-Topic
Each board has a specific purpose:
Read My Palm = reading requests
Lines & Meaning = educational discussions
The Gift Match = connecting readings to gifts
Gift Wins = success stories
The Sellers' Table = introductions and promotions
The Lounge = off-topic chats, introductions, and meta threads like this one
Post in the right board, and use the right tag. It makes the forum easier to navigate for everyone.
5. Privacy and Consent
When posting palm photos, make sure they're your own or you have explicit permission from the person whose hand it is. Avoid including faces or identifying features unless you have consent. We take privacy seriously.
6. Use Clear Photos
If you're requesting a reading, please upload clear, well-lit photos (check the beginner guide in Read My Palm for tips). Blurry or poorly lit photos make it hard to give a good reading – and you'll get better responses with a clean image.
How to Apply Your Tag
When you create a new post, you'll see an option to add a tag (or prefix) to your thread. Choose:
Enthusiast – for most personal posts
Reader – if you're offering reading advice or expertise
Seller – if you're introducing or promoting a product
If you're not sure which tag to use, choose Enthusiast – it's the safest option, and moderators can adjust it if needed.
I'm a Reader AND a Seller – which tag do I use?
Great question. If you wear both hats, you can choose the tag that fits the specific post you're making.
If you're offering a free reading in Read My Palm – use Reader.
If you're introducing your gift shop in The Sellers' Table – use Seller.
If you're sharing a general thought in The Lounge – use Enthusiast.
You can switch tags depending on the context. No need to pick just one identity.
What about verification?
Verified Readers and Verified Sellers have gone through a review process with the moderators. They've shared testimonials, samples, or a history of quality work. We highlight them with a special badge or a note in their profile – so you know you're dealing with someone who's been vetted.
